100 Not Out/Britain's 9th Most Remote Event (Mull) Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Simply Paul: A month (to the day, thanks to that change of plan) on from this event and it's time to archive it. My 100th event as host was a memorable one for several reasons(!), but sincere thanks to Haforn, mcbboyd and milvus-milvus for joining me (yes, in spirit and for a while, in that order!) in this strange venture into the unknown. My Attended log should be worth a read. Cheers again folks, and keep an eye on this listing for news of Britain's 10th Most Remote Event, coming in summer 2016 to a location no where near here...

SP - UK's first 100 Event Host. Who do I see for my medal? [:D]

Geocache Description:

In May'05 I became the first UK cacher to place 100 caches (excluding ones I adopted) and, a bit over ten years later I've become the first UK cacher to host over 100 cache events. I'm delighted to invite any and all cachers capable of reaching the top of the Mull's only Munro (& the only island Munro not on Skye) to join me there to celebrate. If I can bring cake, I will!

Where: The top of Ben More, Mull, at the given co-ords. It's a stiff climb, but I hope you can join me.

When: 2pm to 3pm, Saturday July 18th Sunday July 19th 2015.

Why: Because I like 'extreme' cache events!

Who: Cachers from far and wide, but an event of special interest to cachers who enjoy their 'extreme' caching (geographical) such as myself. Due to the location, probably not best suited to kids though.

Background: In the time since my first event, in August 2004, I've hosted a Lost and Found (10Years! caching birthday) meet, three CITOs and geoGatherings from New York and Berlin to the extreme north of Norway and the tops of SnowdonScafell Pike and Ben Nevis inside 24 hours. I've taken a group to find the UK's oldest cache, hosted meets in Britain's most northerlysoutherly (and the UK's most southerly), easterly and westerly (and remote!) spots - plus England's most westerly and mainland Britain's most southerly and westerly too... and many many geo pub quizes! Even perhaps the UK's poshest meet, 180m above Londonmost remote pub meetrarest date meet and there's been Frisbee GolfDusk 'til Dawn... Well, see my profile for a full list ;)

(Plus I've 'hosted' not one, nor two, but three meets no one attended (which I've not included in my 100) and, also not included in my 100, I helped organise the 2012 Oxford Geolympix. It returns next year...)

So, I'm very proud to host this, my 100th event, which happens to follow in the footsteps of my series of Britain's most remote events. Those being 2014 in Jersey, 2013 on Skye (a non-event!), 2012 on Bryher IoS, 2011 on Eigg, Small Isles, 2010 south of Jersey, 2009 on Unst, Shetlands, 2008 on St Agnes, IoS and 2007 on St Kilda in the outer, outer Hebrides.

There are threads about my July 2015 events on the UK Groundspeak and GAGB forums.
