Britain's Second Most Remote Event (St Agnes) Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Simply Paul: There's still some TBs and coins in this one, but I know they'll be cleared out when this archive note registers [;)]

Thanks again to everyone who dragged themselves out to this extraordinary outpost of the British (or at least UK) Empire. It was a hell of a trip to clear the islands and have the UK's most southerly cache, for a while- Now that honour is back to the cache of the same name [:)]

Geocache Description:

After the unexpected success of my Remote Event Cache on St Kilda in the North Atlantic last summer, I wanted to hold something a *little* more accessible... This one's less silly and more Scilly!

As I've always liked islands, St. Agnes looks ideal! It's the most southerly populated island of the UK (the Channel Islands are further south of course, but they're a Crown Protectorate, not a part of the UK) and so represents another extreme - The St Kilda trip visited the most westerly islands of the UK (if we -perhaps- ignore Rockall for a moment!). Maybe this event will feature less vomit than my last extreme one, but should be no less fun.

The Isles of Scilly, your target.St Agnes. Hope to see you there.

Meet at the above co-ords at the south tip of St Agnes at 2pm on Saturday the 21st of June 2008.

Further details to follow - I suggest you add this cache to your watch list if interested, as I'm adding information as notes on it. There is also a UK forum thread about the event.

Here's some information on how to get there.

And here's some more! I suggest you book early.

An additional treat for Trig Point fans is what I believe to be the UK's second most remote TP, on St. Martin's. There are also a good selection of geocaches on the islands.

There's also a bonus event on the mainland for the Tuesday evening following this: From the Beyond to Penzance, 24th June 2008. Many thanks to the organisers of it :)

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[If you can't find (another) island, you're probably playing the wrong game!]
