Having enjoyed many varied night caching trips, I thought
it'd be fun to organise a more... organised one!
From before 10pm, SATURDAY JULY 19th
'til after 8am, SUNDAY JULY 20th 2008 - A night with a full
moon!
Starting/finishing at the Five Horseshoes, Upper
Maidensgrove,
Henley-On-Thames, Oxfordshire, RG9 6EX. Phone 01491
641282.
Starting at the above co-ords, the plan is to walk a circular
trail, picking up 55+ caches (turtle140's Chiltern's Ramble and
Ridgeway Ramble series, plus some others), through the night,
returning to the pub for breakfast at 8am. There will be much
chatting about caches and coin & TB swapping either ahead or
after the walk, to ensure his event complies with 'not just getting
together to do some caches' rules. Along the way there are some
stiles to cross, so this may not suit less enthusiastic dogs.
Children are welcome, but please give some thought to what could be
a very long day for them.
The closest train station is at Henley-on-Thames, about 5 miles
away. If you plan to attend this way, please let me know and I'll
try to get you picked up and dropped off.
Important note! A full English breakfast with tea, coffee or
juice will only be available (at £15) if 18+ people confirm they
want it by 10pm the night before. Failing this, we'll return to the
pub and simply collect our cars. Please let me know in your 'Will
Attend' log if you're planning to have breakfast (and perhaps a
very early drink?) at the pub. Thanks. This is because the pub
wouldn't usually open before noon on a Sunday and they'll need to
bring staff in early if enough people want breakfast.
There's a thread about the event on the UK
geocaching forums too.
