Geocache Description:



Aaron is the main character from The Little Drummer Boy. He was born to a family who were successful in raising sheep. Aaron was the son of a sheperd, and one day his father gave him a drum for his birthday. Aaron played the drum every day. One night two desert bandits broke into the sheepfold and started stealing sheep. Aaron's father tried to stop them but a bandit killed his father by throwing a sword at him. His mother told him to escape. Aaron ran and watched the bandits kill his mother, burn his farm to the ground, and steal the flock. Aaron wandered the desert and was kidnapped by two greedy men who sold his camel to The Three Kings.

Aaron wandered the desert looking for his camel. He saw the star and followed it to Bethlehem. He finds the kings at a stable with a bunch of sheperds. He runs to his camel, Joshua, but his lamb BaBa is hit by a roman carriage. Aaron asks one of the kings to save his lamb. Aaron plays his drum to baby Jesus. Mary nodds as the song continues. At the end of the song, his lamb runs toward him. Aaron learns it is important to believe in God and to trust people. That the hatred he carried for what happened to his parents was wrong.


The winter series theme this year involves characters from the classic Rankin/Bass Stop-Motion animation TV Specials that first aired in the 60's, 70's, and early 80's.
