2015 was a record year for wildfires in Washington. A record drought, low snowpack & critical fire weather brought Washington’s worst-ever wildfire season. 1,005,423 acres were burned starting June 1st. Washington firefighters could not handle this alone. 8,500 firefighters and support staff were utilized from as far as Australia & New Zealand.
