Continuing my theme of naming most of my trackables after songs, "Big Chief Buffalo Nickel" (aka "Desert Blues") is a song written by Charlie Dore and Julian Nicholas Littman. One of the earliest versions seems to be from 1929, in which it was recorded by Jimmie Rodgers, known as the "Father of Country Music." In years following, the song has been covered by many other performers including Ricky Nelson, Leon Redbone, and Steve Forbert.
