Geocache Description:


Every year a conference is held for kids to teach other kids about the environment.

The 2015 conference theme is catchments.

  The Sunshine Coast Home Educators have laid a ‘catchment cache trail’ to teach other kids about the catchment that starts at Cooloolabin Dam and goes all the way to the Maroochy River mouth and out to the ocean. This trail includes man made, natural, fresh water and saltwater catchments.  To fully appreciate this catchment we recommend you spend the day starting at Catchment Trail 1 and following it all the way to the ocean at Catchment Trail 7. You need coordinate information from Catchment Trails 1-6 to find 7.  It’s important to keep our waterways clean so be sure to take your rubbish away and pick up any that has been left behind.  

You are looking for an eclipse tin located on a pedestrian bridge over the Maroochy river. The bridge is located in Lions park. Look out for bird life and fish. Watch out for muggles. Lions park is a good place for a picnic, while you're here why not skim some stones. There are toilets, BBQ's and picnic tables. This is a great place to stop for lunch while out doing the trail. The railings are not very good so cache is not recommended for little kids. Be careful with the cache, remember if you drop it you get it. The cache is log only so BYOP. There is a small FTF coin for the lucky one who gets there first. Don't forget to get the clue for #7!
