Geocache Description:


Every year a conference is held for kids to teach other kids about the environment.
 
The 2015 conference theme is catchments. 

The Sunshine Coast Home Educators have laid a ‘catchment cache trail’ to teach other kids about the catchment that starts at Cooloolabin Dam and goes all the way to the Maroochy River mouth and out to the ocean. This trail includes man made, natural, fresh water and saltwater catchments.
 To fully appreciate this catchment we recommend you spend the day starting at Catchment Trail 1 and following it all the way to the ocean at Catchment Trail 7. You need coordinate information from Catchment Trails 1-6 to find 7.
 It’s important to keep our waterways clean so be sure to take your rubbish away and pick up any that has been left behind.
 
This is the Fifth cache in the series. It is located in the Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary, a place home to all kinds of wildlife including birds, fish and crabs. Also living in the wetlands are five different kinds of mangrove tree. One has poisonous sap that can cause temporary blindness. The cache is located at a bird hide on the boardwalk through the sanctuary. The area is quiet with not too many muggles. You are searching for a bison tube with log only.
