Geocache Description:

Every year a conference is held for kids to teach other kids about the environment.

The 2015 conference theme is catchments.

The Sunshine Coast Home Educators have laid a ‘catchment cache trail’ to teach other kids about the catchment that starts at Cooloolabin Dam and goes all the way to the Maroochy River mouth and out to the ocean. This trail includes man made, natural, fresh water and saltwater catchments.

To fully appreciate this catchment we recommend you spend the day starting at Catchment Trail 1 and following it all the way to the ocean at Catchment Trail 7. You need coordinate information from Trails 1-6 to find 7.

It’s important to keep our waterways clean so be sure to take your rubbish away and pick up any that has been left behind.

The cache is located on Oyster Bank Road, alongside the Maroochy River. The water here is salty. Like the previous cache, The area is populated with mangrove trees. Many kinds of birds and fish live in the area.

The cache is a bison tube. Not many muggles in the surrounding area.
