Geocache Description:

The cache name can be roughly translated as "In the loop of Cruagh Woods".

Below is the first verse of a traditional song "Cáit Ní Dhuibhir", which describes the wonderful music the person hears while they are taking their herd off the mountain.  My translation would show the words, but without doubt spoil the poetry.

Tránóinín beag déanach, is mo thréad agam dá gcur ón sliabh,
i lúib na coille craobhaí is nach aerach a bhí mo thriall.
Bhí an chuach is an lon is an chéirseach ag tréitheadh, is gach nóta fíor,
is i mbun is i mbarr gach béarsa, ‘Beidh Éire fós ag Cáit Ní Dhuibhir.’

As you can see, it is an allegory for the people of Ireland, but for now, take a deep breath and enjoy the view.

The Cruagh Geocaching trail
I have placed seven geocaches along this route: 4 Traditional hides, 2 Unknown caches (one to be solved at home, the other to be solved at the location), and an enigmatic and difficult Multi Stage cache. Although the walk can be completed in either direction, I would suggest an anticlockwise approach for geocachers planning to search for all seven hides. Turning right at the fork will, initially, appear to be taking you further away from the caches, (if you watch your GPSr), but the path doubles back before long and your GPS will be happy again.
A 100% successful campaign would ideally see the order of events as:

GC47Q64 Have you got the right tine?
GC47Q6J The hills are alive with the sound of music [Puzzle box]
GC47Q6Y Cruagh Cryptek [Stage I]
GC47Q6Y Cruagh Cryptek [Final]
GC47Q7D I lúib na Ccoille Craobhaí
GC47Q7V Half a Click
GC47Q8B Little Dodder
GC47Q90 The day the music died
GC47Q6J The hills are alive with the sound of music [Final]

Good luck!

The area is managed and maintained by Coillte and the cache is placed in line with the “Leave No Trace” principle.
