Geocache Description:

Once again we find ourselves at Capik Nature Preserve. Bring your bike or your walking shoes because the cache is about 3/4 mile from the main parking area. The main trail is actually a packed dirt road around the lakes perfect for a mountain bike. Once close to GZ you will have an easy 80 foot bushwack.

Alternate parking is available at the Sayreville Recreation Complex (sometimes the gate at the entrance for this is closed though). The alternate parking will get you to within .40 mile of the cache but you will have to bushwack (more like "tree-wack") your way to the main trail. This parking is also very close to "The Throne" cache.

Being a "bukkit" the cache will be very easy to find and is filled with large swag items and is also starting out with a few trackables. Go to the dollar store beforehand and get a large swag item to trade! FTF gets a Central Jersey Geocaching pathtag!

If you're planning to do all the caches in this preserve in one trip, my suggestion is to take a leisurely 2 mile (approx) walk or bike ride around the lakes clockwise and do the caches in this order:

GC1FJW2 - Ruby's Retreat (Archived, sorry)
GC1CQ5K - Giddy Up (stage 1)
GC1HAR2 – The Throne
GC1RPNV – Boscobaby’s Big Bloo Bukkit
GC1F38Q - Cosmo's Place
GC1CQ5K - Giddy Up (stage 2)
GC1RQHG – ShellyShel’s Eraser Cache

Hunting is permitted in this preserve but when that is going on there are signs prominently posted. Fishing is allowed with a permit for Sayreville residents only. Dogs are not permitted in the lakes. I hope you enjoy Capik Nature Preserve!
