The submarine tail that is located nearby is the U.S.S. Triton. It was a nuclear submarine that had 2 nuclear reactors powering it. The Hanford site is one of the final resting places for decommissioned nuclear reactors from the U.S. Naval fleet. To transport those reactors to their final resting place, the Hanford site utilized huge cranes and multi-wheeled vehicles. You can see these vehicles nearby....they are huge and very blue. The reactors are shipped up the Columbia River and are off-loaded at the dock to the East of here then driven to their final location by using the multi-wheeled trailer and huge trucks.
