March on Alderney, for the People of Freedonia Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Simply Paul: Although AlderneyGirls are yet to log (I have messaged) I'm going to archive this cache event - they can still log their 8/3/18 Attend, as usual. Thanks for joining me again folks. I'm sorry if I didn't get to speak to everyone; I got side-tracked by the quiz (and fallout there-of!) and the press a bit. I'm very pleased with the venue we ended-up in and I think the food was a success with everyone though, even if the quiz wasn't [:)]
I'm looking forward to a future maintenance trip to my four new caches out here. Who knows what adventures that caching holiday will bring?

Geocache Description:

My 2nd trip to Alderney because I enjoyed it so much in 2014 & wanted another chance to re/introduce other cachers to this rock in the English Channel. Bring your own boat/aircraft, make it a holiday or visit as a day-tripper and help me claim the island for the People of Freedonia!

Where: Bumps Bistro & Bar, Victoria St, St. Anne, Alderney. A popular and convivial place serving food. 01481 823197

When: 6.30-8pm on Thursday the 8th of March 2018.

Who: Intrepid cachers and their well-behaved dogs from far and wide. New to caching or cache events? You'll be made especially welcome.

Why: I have a looong history of visiting islands (see my Event History for some caching ones, since 2007's momentous trip to St Kilda) and loved my flying-visit daytrip to Alderney in 2014. As I'm back in the area on a caching holiday, with the aim of clearing the island, I thought I might chance my luck with another meet.

What: Just a quick gathering to swap travel items and caching stories. No gimmicks - being on Alderney is novelty enough! There may be a geocaching pub quiz if you're lucky...

How: Getting to Alderney isn't so easy, but you can bring your own boat or aircraft, or book a trip from a number of UK airports, or via Guernsey. Meaning this event could be attended as part of a quick day-trip to the 8-squ-Km island.
