Where: The green beside the pub, unless it's too wet/windy, in which case it'll be in the pub.
When: 12.45pm-1.15pm on Tuesday the 8th of August 2017.
Who: Intrepid cachers (no dogs except Assistance Dogs I'm afraid) from far and wide. New to caching or cache events? You'll be made especially welcome.
Why: I have a looong history of visiting islands (see my Event History for some caching ones, since 2007's momentous trip to St Kilda) and loved my trip to Lundy last year. As I'm back in the area for the 2017 Devon Mega I thought I might chance my luck with the weather again! Plus, this time there's now three more geocaches for folks to find after a visit to the island to collect info. That's in addition to two old Virtuals and an Earthcache.
What: Just a quick gathering to swap travel items and caching stories. No gimmicks - being on Lundy is novelty enough! Bring a picnic?
How: Getting to Lundy isn't so easy, but you can bring your own boat or aircraft, or book a trip aboard the MS Oldenburg. It's expected to land at noon and leave at 4.30pm-ish, meaning this event could be done as part of a quick day-trip to Lundy. On August 8th it's expected to leave Ilfracombe at 10am and land back there at 6.30pm.
