Simply Paul: Archived and gathered up. Nearly 100 finds (and several DNFs; sorry!) on this cache, but the series is past its sell-by date, always needed a lot of attention due to cheap cache containers - take note, series setters! - and had some other issues (reopening of train line and HS2 fears amongst them) so it's time to drop most of them. TCLN. Really overgrown along the railway line here, but Rob still located the cache, risking life and limb in the process. It wasn't this tough when I set the cache in November 2011.... Cheers again for all your logs. Thanks too to the group which came with me here to collect this one up. Was glad I brought gloves with me! They didn't all sign the log, no, but I know they were here as the cache was found [:)]

P.S. For those who never got the clue, the cache name should have helped; the cache was hidden at 'The Sign of the Big W' (for whistle, in this cache, on approach to the level crossing) which may put you in mind of a 60s film [:D]

Geocache Description:

The Life Begins cache series is an autobiographical trail set to celebrate - if that's the right word - my turning 40 in November 2011. Don't forget to answer the question in red on the log and make a note of the number! You should get four chances to get each figure in order to find LB40-Bonus!.

This cache: Should present no problems!

Biography: 1976 may have been my first visit to the Isle of Wight - with the exciting ferry crossing that involved. My dad had several Reliant Scimitars, which he later upgraded to a V8 Rover SD1 3.5ltr, to tow the family caravan.

Wider world: 1976 was the year of Punk, Rocky, Cardigans and The Multicoloured Swap Shop. The Muppets were everywhere and kites became a big deal at the toy shop. There were toy shops back then. Oh yes. Taxi Driver was in cinemas and Abba became the biggest band in the world. The Body Shop launched, and the Wurzles topped the charts with a song about a Combine Harvester. Number 1 on my birthday: If You Leave Me Now by Chicago.

Where next: Continue to the disused level crossing before looking right to catch a view of Claydon House, another regular childhood location. If your way is blocked, step over the fallen fence on the right and turn left onto the road. Cross it to face on-coming traffic and very soon you have a narrow pavement to walk on. On your right is a Victorian postbox and the post my brother almost killed himself by cycling into when he approached to crossing too quickly to stop himself when the barriers were down. He was rescued by our art teacher, Miss B. On to LB06!
