This cache: An area where I used to make dens as a kid. Back then you had a view of the 12 chimneys of Calvert Brick Works from the hill above this cache.
Biography: Do you remember much when you're two, do you? But I was damn cute (see photo) and happy (see other photo).
Wider world: 1973 was the year of Glam Rock, The Exorcist and Davie Bowie's The Laughing Gnome. It was a good year for classic sitcoms, with Last of the Summer Wine, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em and Are You Being Served? all lauching. Every kid wanted a Chopper and the Mastermind game (nothing to do with the TV programme) was a big hit for no clear reason. Cliff Richard won Eurovision for Britain and Red Rum won the Grand National. Number 1 on my birthday: Garry Glitter with I Love You Love Me Love.
Where next: Rejoin the path and turn right to climb up steps on your left onto the DISUSED railway line, heading towards LB39. You may be tempted to do LB39 as you pass it BUT PLEASE DON'T! The reason for this will become clear later..! Swing left towards LB03.
