Biography: 1975 was when I got big enough for my brother to find use for me, such as go-cart ballast (and occassional test driver). The other shot is me at his 6th birthday party, an event I recall well. Big table in the back garden on a very sunny July afternoon, lots of local kids and orange squash for all! Ah, memories.
Wider world: 1975 was the year of Fawlty Towers, The Sweeney and Jim'll Fix It - I never wrote in. Old Spice and Brut ads were everywhere, along with permed hair on footballers. Eight-Track was cutting edge (ask your parents) and so were the Bay City Rollers - which tells you a lot about the mid-70s. Bob Marley lead a Reggae Revolution in the UK and Jaws and The Rocky Horror Picture Show brought both extra bite and cross-dressing to the cinemas. Number 1 on my birthday: D.I.V.O.R.C.E by Billy Connolly, just missing the rather cooler Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Bah!
