Can you earn the
Power Trail Master Badge?

It's not all about the numbers -- but Power Trails are a great way to boost your numbers quickly and, if it's a well groomed trail, easily. Some people like them, others hate them. It takes a lot to be able to sit in a car all day and stop every 528 feet, hop out, find a cache, sign the log, replace the log (which is often a feat in-and-of itself, re-hide the cache, and hop back in the car. So here's a challenge dedicated to those wonderful number boosters: Power Trails.

For those of you who have done some power trails, I don't need to describe the experience -- and it is sure to be one. If you happen to DNF a cache here or there, no big deal, there are is always another one merely 528 feet away. Even with those DNFs -- you know you completed the trail, made memories, and had fun.

To qualify for this cache: simply complete 3 Power Trails that have over 100 caches in each trail.

The rules:

  1. You must log a "found it" on at least 90% of the trail to qualify.
  2. I define a Power Trail as a group of caches placed by the same person, group, or team that share a common thread -- often this is thematic like geoart, the title, road, destination, or description.
    • Trails like the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, the ET Highway, Desert Eagle GeoArt, TS####, and Route 66 are great examples of large-scale thematic Power Trails.
  3. You can substitute no more than 2 trails under 100 caches to equal 1 of the 3 required Power Trails so long as BOTH trails were found on the same calendar day and when added together they total over 100 caches.
    • An example of this would be completing the Academy Awards (86 caches) and the Super Bowl (48 caches) Power Trails. Because, they have less than 100 caches each you can use both of them to count as 1 of the Trails IF they were both found on the same calendar day.

In your log please include:

  • Date - Name of Power Trail - GCCode of First and Last cache in trail
  • Post a pic of your geocaching.com map showing the smilie path.

Happy Super Caching!
