Friend Badge?
Today I was out caching and ran into someone I had not seen in years. After catching up, I learned that they too are geocachers. We grabbed a few caches together and exchanged business cards promising to "cache up" later. It got me to thinking, I really enjoy caching with my friends. The joys, the pains, the frustration, the elation...The person to egg you on and say "Com'on, just one more cache..." But most of all, the memories. There is always an adventure to share -- Like that road ---I think it was a road, it was mostly a garbage dump...you know, the one with the toilet in the middle of it. Or perhaps you remember the time when we approached the cache from the wrong direction and made a terrain 1 a terrain 4.5? Yeah, stories like that just make caching awesome!
So here's a challenge to celebrate caching with a friend...Go experience the world, enjoy an adventure, and share it together.
To qualify for this cache you should:
- Over a 30 day period, find at least 50% of your caches with a caching friend.
- You must also find at least 100 caches within that 30 day period.
- PAF's don't count!
- Your caching buddy/buddies must be registered member(s) of geocaching.com and be present when you sign the logs.
- There are some macro's in GSAK available to help calculate percentages. If you took great notes along the way and have the names of people you've cached with, it should go smooth using these plugins.
- Don't sign this log until you qualify.
- optional:You and your caching buddy/buddies sign the log together on the same day.
In your log please include:
- Dates for qualification
- GC Code - Type - Friends Names
- Percentage of caches found with a friend over the 30 day period.
- Optional: Share a story while caching with a buddy
Easy as that!
