Current Goal

This Trackable is found on the highly-competitive FTF (first-to-find a geocache) hunt in Seattle. The honor from finding the Seattle FTF Bell is immeasurable, and the bearers of this Bell should be accorded the respect and bragging rights due to these infamous cachers. Ideally, the Bell is displayed prominently by the tireless cacher while searching for those elusive FTFs. Some might say that this is to give the rest of us a chance, but truly this honor transcends such petty utilitarian goals.

This Trackable should stay with the finder, and be re-hidden (physically or as an off-site FTF prize) in a new Seattle cache, ideally within two months of finding it. As it is meant to be found and logged with an FTF, please do not discover the Bell, but feel free to write a note. All members of a co-FTF team may log the Bell, of course.  In addition, please no "visits" to caches because it clogs this page, but logging a visit to events is encouraged!

If you forsee that you are unable to place the Seattle FTF Bell in a new cache within Seattle in the suggested time period, please contact the owner (Team Maccabee), and we will find someone who will be able to do so. You will remain on the list of finders, of course.

Set-backs happen in life, and as awesome as I can I'm not immune to such things. The Seattle FTF Bell is ready to go back into the wild as soon as some final logistics on the next exciting puzzle are in place. Look for this in the next 30 days.... stay tuned...

Retrieve It from a Cache 12/28/2023 ChowzerZen retrieved it from Happy 18th Birthday Seattle FTF "TUS" Bell Washington   Visit Log

I first started geocaching just shy of a couple years ago and had no idea what an FTF was or what the Seattle FTF Bell was and had no idea what a trackable was. Heck, I barely knew what a geocaching was. It's one of those things that I definitely got the bug and found myself hunting both at night in the rain and before the crack of dawn in the mud to claim FTF and the geocache puzzle this one was placed in.

Qaz&kids joined the search and so we shared FTF credit and after a couple rounds of rock paper scissors he let me have the bell because he's had it before.

And what a magnificent trackable host of trackables this is!

I have a puzzle in mind and I'm executing on that puzzle now. Trying to stick to the 2-month rule, however I'm out of state all of February so it might be early March before this one is released in the wild again. It will be worth the extra month wait... stay tuned...

  • Wow, this is heavy! But so cool!!!! At Fremont Brewery, my own event, Seventh-Day Solstice Sips Soiree, I accepted temporary visitation of the esteemed trackable

HMP made me do it! The song remains the same. HMP's 7 time with the bell (in various caching names) TMP's 6 time. Those numbers are sure to be challenged with the new requirement to release the bell on a more increased pace. TFTTB.

  • 7th time for HMP and 6th time for TMP

Congrats to the FTFers for yet another FTF! I liked the relatively quick turnaround of the last hider, so let's try to get a new cache out their soon to keep up the momentum. Thanks to all of you Seattle cachers that keep the Seattle FTF Bell relevant!!

And yes, no Discovery logs are allowed on the Bell. They would overwhelm the Bell page.
