For more than a decade, AIR Montserrat played host to classic recording sessions by a who’s who of rock, including Dire Straits, The Police, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Ultravox, The Rolling Stones, Lou Reed, Black Sabbath and Eric Clapton. However in 1989, disaster struck when Montserrat Island was dealt a devastating blow by Hurricane Hugo which destroyed 90% of the island’s structures and brought the studio’s glittering story to an abrupt end. The studio still lies derelict to this day. You can read more about that here and here.
This Travel Bug honours Mighty Minions who was the FTF of our cache GC8G5A7 The Paradiddle Puddle, on 1 March 2020. Congrats and well done, Mighty Minions ...only you forgot to grab and even discover the TB! So, thanks and congrats also go to riokun who was the next finder (and also earlier the first to not find lol) who grabbed the TB! The cache is located on the central coast of Australia and is the sixth in our Paradiddle Series of mystery caches.
The TB was activated and dropped in GC8G5A7 by us for the first finder to grab and decide how and where its journey shall begin. Turns out it shall be the first NOT finder who gets the privilege lol.
Hitchhiker is part of a retired Vater Super Jazz Hickory Wood Tip.
