Geocache Description:

**This cache is not at the above coords**

Welcome back to the team novo Paradiddle geocache series! Just like with scales and arpeggios for melodic instruments such as guitar and piano, drum rudiments are the basic building blocks for drumming and percussion technique. They help with developing coordination, speed, and accuracy –all very important qualities to possess as a drummer.

The Single Paradiddle is one of the primary drum rudiments. It consists of a basic pattern of alternating sticking combining both Single and Double Strokes. Learning your paradiddles and executing them correctly is necessary for you to find this cache. Good luck, budding drummers!

(Keep in mind that all rudiments are typically written as leading off with your right hand)

The cache is at S33° 2?.???' E151° 2?.???'

Can you “paradiddle” your way to the cache? First, it's time to play a little "who am I?"

Below is a collage of twenty very famous drummers:

To the LEFT of the image are some women who are considered to be among the greatest drummers of the modern era. For just one of these ladies, the following three statements are TRUE:

  • I was once the drummer and music director for a major/ iconic (80s/90s/noughties) pop act.

  • I am known for playing drums/ percussion in high heels.

  • I have achieved a significant solo career.

To the RIGHT of the image are a bunch of blokes considered to be among the most influential drummers in modern music. For just one of these gents, the following three statements are TRUE:

  • My band was formed as the backing group for a highly successful solo artist (but we also went on to achieve our own success as a four-piece). Together, my band and this artist we have backed many times over the years hold more #1 UK singles chart hits combined than The Beatles.

  • I have enjoyed a long and successful career in music composition, particularly television series themes for clients such as the BBC and the Australian Nine Network. In fact, I wrote what is generally regarded as one of Australia’s most iconic television themes.

  • I was appointed OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for my services to music.

The D rating of this cache reflects the combined efforts required in solving the task, the learning and execution of your paradiddles, the deliberate absence of a coord checker (and thus no clues given as to how to get to GZ), and the difficulty of the hide itself. No humdrum here - just some groovy paradiddling fun and adventure!

The cache: You're searching for a poly tube container here in what is often a giant puddle. It's fun to play in puddles so I'd recommend bringing your wellies (unless of course you are barefootjeff :D). Be assured that the cache is not located on private property, nor should you have to enter private property at any stage to get to this or any of the caches in the series.

Please go easy when logging your find on-line so as to not inadvertently (or otherwise!) drum up any spoilers in terms of the puzzle and the GZ location as it really is up to all individual geocachers to learn their own paradiddles ;-) and please do not post any pics of any part of the actual WPs or container or the area at GZ as it can spoil the fun for others.. We have dropped the newly activated Paradiddle Puddle FTF TB for the first finder to grab and decide how and where its journey shall begin.

We hope you enjoy another team novo caching experience …and of course don’t forget your paradiddles!!
