A series of 19 caches plus a Bonus around the village of Leigh (pronounced "Lie"), featuring fun and customised birdhouses to find. The route is approx. 3.7 miles, so allow up to half a day, depending on group size and speed. The paths are mostly across farmlands and are established rights of way – no need for any bushwhacking. The paths are muddy in winter or after rain – definite wellies or walking boots ! Tweezers (or similar) will be useful for extracting logs.
A waypoint for Parking is provided at LBH1 (Leigh Birdhouse Hunt) - A buzzy start. There’s a pub in the village, plus other pubs and shops in the surrounding villages a short drive away.
Don’t forget - Some of the caches (not all) have additional information you will need to note down in order to find the Bonus cache (LBH20-BONUS (Leigh Birdhouse Hunt) – Hoot and away)
My thanks to Steve for the inspiration and help in devising this series.
