This cache is hidden in celebration of the arrival of the long awaited final season of HBO's production of George R.R. Martin's multi-book series A Song of Ice and Fire, better known by the title of the first book, Game of Thrones. While we already know that some of the plot points in the TV series are different than those of the books, there's a sense that much is going to be revealed and some closure will be achieved. Since the publication of the penultimate book, The Winds of Winter, has been delayed for several years already, it's starting to feel doubtful that we may ever actually see the projected last book, A Dream of Spring. Fans world-wide have been anxiously awaiting this moment since the last season finished up in August of 2017.
Now that Winter has arrived in The Seven Kingdoms, things are really heating up. We’ve got duplicate Kings and Queens in all directions and everyone from East and West, North and South is teaming up in a battle for survival. While brawn will certainly play its part, I suspect that the end-game will involve no small amount of brainpower, strategy and finesse. That's why I'm hoping Samwell Tarly will turn out to be one of the heroes of the series. He may not know everything but he's definitely no dummy. What’s in the cards? Will the living trump the dead? The good guys have suffered some losses early on, but they may be able to double their efforts and claim victory in the end. The Night King and his army are on the move, but one thing is certain: the defenders of the realm still have a few tricks left.
