Geocache Description:

Please join us on Saturday, March 25 for the official launch of our all-new ten-cache geotrail at Plainsboro Preserve!

In 2011, Plainsboro Preserve participated in the National Wildlife Federation's "Ranger Rick Geotrails" program and created an eight-cache geotrail to showcase each of the eight trails in Plainsboro Preserve. Over the past roughly five years and four months these caches have a combined total of nearly 1,000 finds and have allowed hundreds of visitors to experience Plainsboro Preserve in new and interesting ways.

We've spent the past nine months reimagining our geotrail. No longer part of the "Ranger Rick Geotrails" program, we're now ready to present our new and entirely custom geotrail to the world. We invite the geocaching community to come out to Plainsboro Preserve on Saturday, March 25 for the official launch of our all-new geotrail!

  • Our geotrail has been upgraded from eight caches (one of which went MIA three years ago) to TEN caches.
  • All-new hiding places to continue the challenge and introduce people to some of the more interesting areas of Plainsboro Preserve.
  • Custom, sturdy, camouflaged ammo cans replace our old plastic Lock'n'Lock containers.
  • A new puzzle cache — a first for the Plainsboro Preserve geotrail — with special prizes from the Nature Center for those who find it!
  • Custom hand-made trinkets for the first visitors to each of the ten new caches.

Additionally, although they will be archived, the remaining seven geocaches of our original eight-cache geotrail will remain findable and loggable until approximately the afternoon of Saturday, March 25, after which the containers will be permanently removed from their hiding places. If you haven't yet found all of the original caches, this will be your last opportunity to do so and will give new visitors the opportunity to find up to seventeen caches in a single day!

Gates to Plainsboro Preserve will open at 7am. The Nature Center opens at 9am, and this event will officially start at 10am. The new geotrail will not be published until shortly after that so as to give everyone a chance to mingle and be social, as well as offer an equal opportunity to grab a First To Find on any of the new ten caches!

Old Geotrail (Valid until the afternoon of Saturday, March 25, 2017):

New Geotrail (Valid starting the morning of Saturday, March 25, 2017):
