You may have heard the story of Jimmy “Two Cups” MACHiato and how the coffee baron met his demise at the hands of a Geocacher named Glacier_ice.  You may have even read his case file, #1138 where a Geocacher named KLBlue demanded “Libra! Justice” for Jimmy. What you haven’t heard, is how Jimmy is out there looking for justice of his own.

The shock of death had been so sudden for Jimmy that he wasn’t even aware that he was dead, until he was standing there, looking down at his own body. It took a moment to realise that he was, indeed, looking down at himself. “That’s strange,” he thought. As his lifeless eyes stared back at him, he understood. He was dead. Not just dead, but murdered.

He watched as a shadowy figure dragged his lifeless body outside and dumped it into the trunk of a car before driving off. Jimmy, now Ghost Jimmy, wondered what to do next.

Weeks later, strange stories started to pop up on social media about weird occurrences at coffee shops. It would happen in the evenings, once the sun started to dip towards the horizon. At first, it was an empty paper cup would be knocked off a table. People would attribute that to a light breeze and laugh it off. When full cups of coffee started hitting the floor, people started talking.

The events would occur for a few weeks at one coffee shop and then stop. Another coffee shop would start seeing things, before it too would stop. Social media was abuzz with the coffee shop equivalent of a haunting. People, being curious beings, instead of being frightened away would flock to each location, camera phones in hand, hoping to be the one to capture the trickery on their phone.  At one coffee shop in the North, Five coffee cups were knocked off a table in a surprising swoosh. The patrons were shocked, but they were so slow with their phones, that they had zero chance of capturing it. Four times this happened and nobody was able to catch footage. Six days after the first batch of cups hit the floor, things in that location just stopped.

In a way, Ghost Jimmy was enjoying himself. It’s not like these people were drinking good coffee anyway. Even Jimmy’s ghostly visage knew bad coffee from good coffee. He could sense when the beans were done right and when they were done wrong. Bad coffee just had to hit the floor.

Jimmy traveled for three nights, looking for the next place to haunt. He found a place in Grand Beach that claimed to brew good coffee. He stayed for a five days and like a meteor shower, he averaged two cups per hour. In his mind, he was shaming these coffee places for making bad coffee. In reality, the spectral circus drove up sales wherever he visited.

While the coffee wasn’t up to Jimmy’s standards, the Selkirk coffee shop owner was sharp. Tie dyed T-shirts were sold at that location with the phrases like “I had coffee with the Coffee Ghost!” and “Why was my mug knocked over? I bean good!”

Jimmy did remain elusive and still nobody was able to get any live footage except for photos of spilled coffee cups.  Before long, the Coffee Ghost moved on.

Jimmy the Ghost drifted to the West, across the lake, settling in the town of Gimli. His first stop, at a chain coffee shop, surprised people. In the first hour, he sent nine cups of coffee to the floor. The seven people in the place were spooked and left. They may have heard the buzz about this coffee ghost, but wanted no part of it.

The next day, nothing happened, it was like Jimmy went to sleep. Zero cups of coffee hit the floor for the next five days, zero. The store owner was less than happy.  He thought, like all the other stores that the Coffee Ghost had visited, that he was going to enjoy a run of good business. Then it happened. A young couple were enjoying a particularly bad cup of coffee. They were laughing as the girl was shooting footage of the young man trying to impress the girl with how much sugar he could put into his coffee and still manage to drink it. As he continued to fill the mug with sugar, suddenly the cup flew through the air, hitting the wall behind the young man. As over sugared coffee dripped soaked into his clothes and dripped down the wall, the girl starts screaming “I got it! I got it on the phone!”

The girl’s fingers were flying on her phone as she scrambled to upload the video to the internet. The two young people enjoyed instant fame as “The Coffee Ghost” video went viral almost immediately and within the day had garnered over eight million views.

The Ghost of Jimmy watched as people started streaming into this chain coffee shop. Sales of bad coffee were through the roof, angering Jimmy greatly. Without care, he started sending streams of coffee to the floor before finally cracking the window on the door before flying out into the night. The people were delighted by his spectral happening, but this just made Jimmy angry. He headed further North, settling in an area known as Camp Morton.

To this day, Jimmy haunts the camp grounds of Camp Morton, slamming cups of camp coffee out of the hands of unsuspecting campers. Will you be able to keep your cup of coffee in your hands when you search for this Ghost?
