Geocache Description:

Slayer (My husband Adam) and I (Sublime AKA Joey) were kicking around the idea of creating a series. When spit-balling ideas Slayer suggested a series showcasing the zany way we got together. So we created this series to allow others to follow the adventure of our love story.

This is a highlight of the particular events that brought us together.

The series has matching themed “camo”. Not what you would expect for the wild, but it is wild.

This is how SlayerMeetsSublime Stop # 4: All I want is my pants!

I (Sublimes) first place not with a parental figure was where she would ultimately lay eyes on Slayer for the first time.

I lived in this house with her best friends J-O-N and Becky.

I moved into this house from my mothers house which was in Waukegan. J-O-N and Becky had a house in Spring Grove. So essentially opposite ends of the universe.

On a Friday night after work I moved my entire life, EVERY. SINGLE. THING. I had ever owned into the house. Then I helped Becky and J-O-N move all they could from their house. The night turned into early morning. Becky had to work Saturday so she took a cat nap (a few hours in your 20’s will get ya by remember) and went on to work. J-O-N and I kept trucking along, moving boxes in our cars.

Finally, we were done. I was exhausted. I was dirty. I was sweaty and gross and needed a shower. My clothes were moved in large black contractor bags. I had I think 4 or 5 of them in a circle in my new bedroom. I went to grab some pajamas, so I could take a shower and get comfy. I went to work looking for my favorite, most comfy pajama pants. I kinda knew what was where in the bags ya know. Cause I would remember what was in what drawer and which drawer was emptied first.

Well I looked. And looked. And LOOKED. I could not find my pants.

So I think out of part shear exhaustion, emotions from moving out on my own for the first time and who knows what else I just started to sob. I sobbed like someone had taken away my GPS. J-O-N comes running to my aid when he hears thinking that I have injured myself.

There he finds me. Sitting in the middle of the contractor bags like the center of a black plastic flower. Sobbing. For pants.

He of course bursts into laughter. And after a moment of angry, because why are you laughing at me, I too couldn’t help but laugh.

This house holds some great memories for me. My first taste of adulthood. My first taste of freedom. And just 15 or so feet from where I sobbed for black pants with red strips down the sides SlayerMeetsSublime.
