Geocache Description:

Slayer (My husband Adam) and I (Sublime AKA Joey) were kicking around the idea of creating a series. When spit-balling ideas Slayer suggested a series showcasing the zany way we got together. So we created this series to allow others to follow the adventure of our love story.

This is a highlight of the particular events that brought us together.

The series has matching themed “camo”. Not what you would expect for the wild, but it is wild.

This is how SlayerMeetsSublime Stop # 1:  Cars, Trucks and Vans – Used and Brand New!

When I (Sublime) was 16 I got a job at a nearby car dealership.  I was a receptionist.  A few months into my employment I took a message for a new parts guy.  You know on those pink “While you Were Out” pads.  It has lines for all the pertinent info, name, from, time, number, regarding.  I filled it out and left it for him. Later that afternoon he walks up to my desk, tosses the message at me and with a grin I would come to know meant I should be suspicious of the next statement said “My name is Jon.  Short for Jonathan.  That is J-O-N.”  Well, you see, being a naïve teenager I thought you only spelt John, well, J-O-H-N.  I had an uncle John and that is how he spelt it.  J-O-N and I ended up fast friends.

J-O-N and I have now been friends almost 20 years.  We have been there for the passing of each other’s parents, our marriages, children, losses and gains.  J-O-N is my oldest friend and holds a tremendously special place in my heart.  J-O-N accompanied me down the aisle at our wedding.  He gave my hand to Slayer (Adam) officially that day.  With my father being deceased J-O-N took it upon himself to be my pseudo protector.  He would (half-jokingly) give potential suitors a questionnaire before they could date me.  He also made sure they knew that I was busy making something of myself and they would be my last priority.  Slayer (Slayer) was the first suitor that J-O-N didn’t frighten away.

J-O-N would end up introducing me to the person who would ultimately introduce me to Slayer some 4 years later.

So as you find this cache glace north.  There in the bay door, smoking a Newport, is where the first cosmic event occurred that lead to SlayerMeetsSublime.  Unbeknownst to me at that time my future began.
