The coordinates above are
false!!! Yes...This is a Quest! There are 4 stages
before the final goal. This is a Trivia Quest inspired by a group
of British actors from the 60's & 70's. All the questions are
the exact same ones from the original cache, but the locations are
all new and different. The stages are all in the backcountry around
Lake Pleasant. All stages are outside the park boundaries, so you
won't have to pay admission unless you want to (now that would be
Too Silly!!!)
This is the format ... Starting here and in each
stage, you will get coordinates with letters. To determine the
correct numbers you will have to answer some trivia questions from
the group's TV shows or movies. Use the numbers in front of the
correct answers ("One .. Two .. Five!!" "Three sir." "Three!"),
then on to the next stage...
And now for Something Completely Different!!
Stage 1:
N 34° 02.7A0 W 112° 22.BC9
A. What Breed was the Ex-Parrot?
0. Brazilian Green
5. Norwegian Blue
9. Reese's Variegated
B. What is a Notlob?
0. The Palindrome for Bolton
5. Short for Not a Lobotomy
9. The Synonym for Ipswitch
C. When is Eric not a Bee?
0. When he's an half a bee
5. When he's a free bee
9. When he's an Ex-bee
So now you get it (nudge, nudge!). The stages
involve some rough backcountry 4x4 trails, and some good hikes
involving steep loose rocky slopes. Some are harder, some are
easier. You do not have to Park Illegally, Jaywalk, Look in Bushes
or otherwise make a Nuisance of Yourself!! Land management is BLM
and State Trust. Be legal, be careful, have fun.
You will have to bring your own writing tool and
paper to copy down the clues and coordinates. Or, if you have a
camera that takes good closeup shots, you could take a snapshot of
the clue sheet at each of the intermediate stages. The first 4
stages are small soapbox-size containers, while at the end is a
standard ammo box. This is Arizona, not England, so please look
before reaching into any likely hiding place. There may be spiders,
scorpions, snakes, killer rabbits, Black Beasts, etc. And don't
forget to bring plenty of water!! It is probably best to save the
quest for the cooler months of the year.
This cache is fully approved as meeting the
Difficulty 5, Terrain 3.5 combination for the
Arizona Fizzy Challenge,
even though it was placed after the AZ Fizzy was published.
