SwtM - Sable Falls Traditional Geocache

Sable Falls is located in Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore, at the east end of the park a few miles west of Grand Marais on H-58. It is only a half mile walk from the parking area to the falls. There is a set of stairs that takes you to the base of the falls. These falls are interesting because they are surrounded by sand dunes. If you continue on the trail you will be at the beach in a few minutes. The Grand Sable Dunes are just to the west.

Sable Falls tumbles 75 feet over several cliffs of Munising and Jacobsville sandstone formations on its way to Lake Superior. The first viewing platform is down a staircase with 169 steps. The hike from the parking area to this staircase steps is short. The trail continues past the falls and down the canyon. It is about a half-mile to the beach as Sable Creek as it winds its way to Lake Superior.

Visit 14 geocaches in the SwtM series. At each geocache collect a letter and number combination. Insert them into the phrase FiTS LIKe A GlOVE. Use the coordinates from the phrase to find the final geocache and become a Mitten Master
