Geocache Description:

Welcome to Coshocton County, Ohio, home of Historic Roscoe Village, the Horse-drawn Canal Boat, Three Rivers Wine Trail and the Crow Homecoming! To introduce you to some of the history and beautiful sights of our county, we created The Crow Geotrail. We have 300 beautiful crow-themed geocoins (see below) available for cachers that complete the trail.

You must visit three locations to find this cache. NOTE: Night caching is not allowed. There is ample parking at all three locations.

At the first location (posted coordinates), you will find a unique, yet appropriate, statue. Standing with your back to the street and facing the person at the top of statue, count 11 layers up from the base. This layer tells you about a bull (on the right side) and a bird (on the left side). How many letters are in the name of the bird (just the third word)? Let this stand for A.

At the second location (see Stage 2 coordinates posted below), you will find a unique memorial. The stone monument has an etched drawing. To the right, you will see the company store and directly below it you will see scrip (a form of credit that workers earned to spend at the company store). There are four numbers (note: numbers, not digits). Add these together and let the resulting number stand for B.

To determine the final (cache) location, substitute the number you calculated at Stage 1 for A in the following: N 40 15.847 W 081 51.A44 then subtract the number you calculated at Stage 2 (B) from the north.

You are looking for a small lock-n-lock container. Permission for the placement has been granted by the property manager.

To earn your coin, obtain a passport by visiting the Coshocton County Visitors Bureau website (use Related Web Page link). Passports will also be available for pickup beginning launch weekend at the locations listed below.

Visit all 13 cache locations, sign the physical log, and record the key word on your passport. Once you complete the passport, return it to one of the locations below to pick up your coin.
