Saturday, September 13th starting at 6:30pm at the Trail River Campground on Kenai Lake near Seward Highway MP 24!

End summer in SouthCentral with a fun-filled weekend cleaning and camping trip between Turnagain Pass and Seward! This is the third running of a HOBO CITO series that was devised, developed, and planned in the GeocacheAlaska! forums. Help us wrap up the summer tourist season by squeezing in one more frenzy of cleaning before the rapidly approaching snow season. Let's get rid of some of that junk before it gets covered up for the winter!

Bring your tent (or small RV) and sleeping bags for an evening campfire social. We'll roast s'mores and hot dogs over the campfire while sharing your scary caching stories. Official event start will be 6:30PM to allow the day's Hobo CITO Crews to pitch their tents and gather at a central campfire location. Bring some snacks and beverages (adult beverages are OK, but bring your own and consume responsibly!) Winter is fast approaching, so make sure you bring proper cold weather clothing and an extra blanket or two for that sleeping bag.

Note, the published coordinates are for the entrance to the campground. We will be camping on the lakefront amongst sites 70-75. Campers will need to pay $18 fee for their site upon arrival. The social event will likely take place slightly removed from the tent sites at the day use picnic area on the lake shore (it's just a few yards walk from the closest campsite). Non-campers attending just the social event should take the road to the day use area instead of the camping area and park at the small lot for the day use site. On Sunday morning we will gather for an informal community breakfast and have a relaxing morning prior to breaking camp to head off to the final CITO site a few miles up the highway.
