The three Silmarils, or Silmarilli, were created by Fëanor, son of Finwë, who was the greatest of the High Elven Noldor in arts and lore. Infused with the light of the two trees, the three Silmarilli could not be held by mortal hands. They were stolen by Melkor, later named Morgoth. This resulted in the pursuit of the Noldor, who warred with Morgoth for 500 years to recover the Silmarilli. One was lost in the depths of the earth, one lost in the sea, and one eventually became the star of Earendil [the full tale is recorded in (Quenta) Silmarillion by JRR Tolkien].
Celebrimbor was the grandson of Feanor, and inherited his skill with gemstones and metals. Among his great works was the forging of the rings of power. Three in particular, Narya, Nenya, and Vilya were forged by Celebrimbor alone. These rings were given to High Elven Lords
Silmarilli is not located at the posted coordinates, which are the best place to park. Instead, you will need the power of Narya, Nenya, and Vilya to find it. Seek out the three rings of elven power and you will find the Silmarilli. Remember that all are letterboxes: be prepared with parchment to imprint the stamps from these letterboxes. Once you have collected the three, prepare for a moderate hike with no trail. Proper footware, long pants, eleven sword and shield, and the cunning and wisdom of the Noldor will be essential.
