Celebrimbor, grandson of Feanor, king of the Noldor, forged the three elven rings of power. Designed to heal and preserve, they were free of the influence of Sauron. Celebrimbor gavethe rings to Ereinion Gil-galad, Galadriel, and Cirdan the Shipright. Much of the power of the elves in the second and third age was revealed to come from these rings. Once the "One Ring" was destroyed, the three rings also lost their power, and all that was made or preserved by them faded.
Nenya, is a mithril (silver) band set with a clear white stone. It was also called the Ring of Adamant, Ring of Water, and the White Ring. Nenya provides protection, preservation, and concealment from evil. It was given to Galadriel, and by this means was Lothlorien preserved from Sauron. After the destruction of the "One Ring" Galadriel carried Nenya to the Undying Lands.
The elven paths to Nenya are now lost, but mortals can take one of two paths in their quest: both will require some chest high bushwacking. From the East is the longest, but surest path. Park at Parking Waypoint 2, and follow the road up the hill to the west, then on to the first stage, which is small but should be easy to find. From here, it is a short journey to the final. The best approach to the final is from the south, and climb to the top. This is a 3+ mile roundtrip journey. A shorter but steeper path is from Parking Waypoint 1 (my path), east down the old roadbed to the creek bottom, then follow the old road as it meanders west along the creek, then south to the road end, then to the first stage. This route is 1.5 miles roundtrip, but will be steeper and with more bushwacking.
Nenya is key to finding Silmarilli. Remember to be prepared with parchment to imprint the stamp from these letterbox. Do not publish, upload photos, or otherwise reveal the secrets you find, lest you suffer the wrath of the Noldor!
