Geocache Description:

A Letterbox Hybrid which is not at the posted coordinates. In addition to the normal logbook and trade items, it also contains a letterbox stamp, inkpad, and stamp book. Please do not remove the stamp, ink pad, or stamp book. THEY ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS!

Celebrimbor, grandson of Feanor, king of the Noldor, forged the three elven rings of power. Designed to heal and preserve, they were free of the influence of Sauron. Celebrimbor gave the rings to Ereinion Gil-galad, Galadriel, and Cirdan the Shipright. Much of the power of the elves in the second and third age was revealed to come from these rings. Once the "One Ring" was destroyed, the three rings also lost their power, and all that was made or preserved by them faded.

Narya, or the Ring of Fire, is a gold band set with a red stone. It's power is to inspire resistance to tyranny, domination, and despair by creating hope in others, and providing the bearer resistance against weariness. Narya was originally given to Cirdan the Shipright. When Gandalf (Mithrandir) arrived in Middle Earth from the West, Cirdan gave it it Gandalf:
"Take now this Ring," he said; "for thy labours and thy cares will be heavy, but in all it will support thee and defend thee from weariness. For this is the Ring of Fire, and herewith, maybe, thou shalt rekindle hearts to the valour of old in a world that grows chill." This is likely the "secret fire" which Galdalf wields when he defeated the Balrog in Moria. After the destruction of the "One Ring" Galdalf carried Narya to the Undying Lands.

Park at the parking area, then follow the road to the posted coordinates. The road become bad very quickly, and a full sized auto cannot get here in any case, so plan on a 2 mile round trip hike. At the posted coordinates, look north and you will see an unnamed hill. The letterbox is located at the very top of this hill (0.2 mile at 347 degrees of true north). It is a small rock pile: use the spoiler photos if needed.

Narya is key to finding Silmarilli. Remember to be prepared with parchment to imprint the stamp from these letterbox. Do not publish, upload photos, or otherwise reveal the secrets you find, lest you suffer the wrath of the Noldor!

This is a letterbox hybrid. In addition to the normal logbook and trade items, it also contains a letterbox stamp, inkpad, and stamp book. Please do not remove the stamp, ink pad, or stamp book. THEY ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS!
