Fa uns anys l'Ajuntament de Barcelona va posar en marxa la campanya Guapos per sempre per distingir les botigues amb més de 50 anys que conserven l'ornamentació, arquitectura i negoci originals.
A part de posar-los una placa davant la porta -i editar un llibre- sembla que ha servit de ben poca cosa ja que fins i tot la web que es va crear va desaparèixer fa anys en un prodigi de coherència: les coses modernes duren menys que les antigues! Com diu un amic meu, els papirs encara es poden llegir, però intenta llegir ara un floppy de 5 polzades i quart gravat en format WordPerfect.
Aquesta sèrie de geoamagatalls és un petit homenatge a aquestes botigues. Totes valen la pena de ser vistes i visitades, tant per dins com per fora conserven els elements originals d'ornamentació, mobiliari i un aire de tradició que es pot olorar. En definitiva, són Guapos perquè han mantingut l'encant original. No us limiteu a buscar les pistes, mireu-les i admireu-les.

Anem per feina. Totes les instruccions (dreta, esquerra, darrera, ... ) estan basades en un observador mirant la placa. A molts llocs la recepció de GPS, com sempre dins de carrers estrets, és dèbil. Hem fet un esforç per garantir coordenades molt exactes però aneu amb compte amb les identificacions, hi ha llocs on es poden trobar fins a tres Guapos en menys de 10 metres. Utilitzeu l'opció Mostrar els punts de ruta ocults (Show Hidden Waypoints).
WP1: A la façana, a 1m d'alçada, una decoració amb fulles de color verd. Conteu les fulles senceres a la façana -no conteu ni les mitjes fulles als extrems ni les dels laterals- a cada una de les tres columnes i multipliqueu els tres números per obtenir un número de tres xifres.
WP2 : Admireu els magnífics vitralls de la façana. En el de l'esquerra (són iguals, però millor evitem confusions) hi ha uns vidres rodons -tots del mateix tamany- de tres colors diferents que destaquen clarament, alguns sols, altres formant part de flors. Número de vidres grocs*3 + número de vidres blaus*5 + número de vidres liles*7. Aquests vitralls només són visibles en horari comercial.

Un dels pocs Guapos que he trobat per casualitat, passejant. A la dreta, a terra, una petita tapa metàlica. Nom de la companyia de serveis: número de consonants*20 + número de vocals.
Juraria que està tancat. El mantinc a l'espera de confirmació.

Sota el nom de l'establiment, a la façana de fusta, unes petites motllures en forma de bola. Només les del frontal, no les dels laterals. Conteu-les i resteu-ne 17.

Darrera vostre, a l'altra banda del carrer, a l'entrada del carreró i a terra unes pedres de color clarament diferents de la resta -diguem-ne groc vell-. Quantes?
WP6: Conteu les ratlles verticals decoratives -només les de la part frontal, no les dels laterals- a cada un dels dos pisos de la motllura de fusta que suporta (per la part de sota) el plafó central, on hi ha la data de fundació de l'establiment. Formeu un número de tres xifres amb les ratlles del pis superior i les del pis inferior. A aquest número resteu-li 3.

A la façana, a l'esquerra, unes ceràmiques decoratives amb un marc amb petits triangles de colors. Una, i només una, de les rajoles té un número. Sumeu-ne les 4 xifres. Del tros de marc que toca aquesta rajola, per cada triangle verd sumeu 2; per cada triangle marró sumeu 3. O sigui: xifra1 + xifra2 + xifra3 + xifra4 + 2*verds + 3*marrons
Un altre Guapo que ha tancat. En espera de substitució.

A la part superior de tota la façana de fusta de la botiga hi ha unes motllures en forma de barra vertical. A dalt de tot de l'aparador de l'esquerra, quantes d'aquestes barres hi ha dins d'un marc rectangular?

WP10: A la façana, 5 lloses de marbre rosa aguanten els marcs de fusta dels aparadors. A cada llosa hi ha un baix relleu d'una "palmera", totes diferents de mida i forma -ovalada, circular, ...- però totes tenen el mateix número de fulles. Quantes fulles té cada "palmera"? Sumeu-n'hi +13

(Aquest m'encanta). A la façana, sobre l'escut de la cantonada, a la paret del carrer principal, hi ha una inscripció gravada a la pedra (dues paraules). Per evitar interpretacions: acabada en una consonant. Número de consonants*20 + número de vocals + 5.

Tots els punts són accessibles fàcilment fins i tot en cadira de rodes, però per descontat el trajecte sencer és important. Confio que cap de les dades sigui localitzable per Internet i jo calculo fàcilment tres o quatre hores per fer el recorregut sencer. Per algú de fora probablement més.

Some years ago Barcelona Council created the Guapos per sempre -Beautiful forever- campaign to promote shops with more than 50 years with original building, interior and business.
After installing a plate in front of the main door -and publishing a nice book- the project seems to have gone nowhere, even the website is no longer available as a sign of the times: new technology doesn't work while old business is still there.
This serie of geocaches is a small homage to this establishments. All of them are worth seeing and visiting, both in the interior and outdors they keep the original decoration elements, furniture and a smell of tradition that you can feel. After all, they are Guapos because they keep the original charm. Don't limit yourself to pick up the clues, look and admire them.

Let's do it. All directions (right, left, back, ...) are for someone looking at the Guapos plate. GPS signal is usually weak, as always on narrow streets. We tried to get very accurate coordinates but be carefull with the identifications, in some places there are three Guapos in a mere 10 meters area. Use the Show Hidden Waypoints option.
WP1: On the façade at aprox. 1m high, some painted green leafs. Count the full ones on the façade -don't count half-leafs on the corners, neither the lateral ones- on each one of the three columns. Multiply the three quantities to get a three digit number.
WP2: Admire the magnificent stained glass windows of the façade. On the left one (they are identical, but let's better avoid confusion) there are some round glass pieces -all the same size- of three diferent colours that can be easily identified, some alone, others as part of the flowers. Number of yellow glasses*3 + number of blue glasses*5 + number of purple glasses*7. The stained glass windows can be seen only on business hours .

One of the few Guapos I found by hazard, just walking. On your right, on the floor, a small metalic lid. Take the name of the company: how many consonants/vowels? Consonants*20 + vowels.

Under the shop name, on the wooden façade, count the small engraving balls and substract 17. Count only the balls in the front, not the ones on the laterals

Behind you, on the other side of the street, a narrow street entrance with some coloured (yellow) stones on the floor. How many?
WP6: Count the vertical decorative lines -only the front ones, not the ones on the laterals- of each "floor" of the wooden support (on the boottom) of the central panel, the one with the stablishment foundation date on it. Make a three digits number with the lines on the upper floor and the ones on the lower floor. Subtract 3 from this number.

On the façade, on your left, some pottery with a border made of small coloured triangles. One of the pieces, and only one, has a four digit number on it. Add the four digits. On the border that surrounds this piece (only the one with the number): green triangles*2 + brown triangles*3. So in total: digit1 + digit2 + digit3 + digit4 + 2*green + 3*brown.

On your back, on the floor, two gratings together with holes. Holes of the small one*20 + holes of the big one.

The upper part of the wood façade is decorated with vertical bar moldings. On the top left, above the left window shop, how many of those bars can you count inside a rectangular frame?
WP10: On the façade 5 marble stones under the window wooden frames. On each one, a palm tree (kind of). Even if they have diferent size and shape, all of them have the same number of leaves.
How many leaves on each palm tree? Add +13

(I love this one). On the façade, above the coat of arms on the corner, on the main street side, an inscription engraved on the stone (two words). To avoid confusion: ending with a consonant. Consonants*20 + vowels + 5.

All waypoints are easily accessible even on a wheelchair, but the whole circuit will not take less than three or four hours. I hope no data is accesible on Internet and you will have to go to every single point, so for foreigners with less knowledge of transport and small streets add some more time.
