In Bonn-Castell befindet sich die ehemaligen Pädagogische Hochschule, eine Außenstelle der Universität Bonn, wo Studenten unter anderem Pädagogik, Informatik, Chemie und Sport studiert haben. Seit der Errichtung des Campus Poppelsdorf und der Zentralisierung der Institute wird der Studienbetrieb hier zunehmend weniger und die Gebäude kaum noch genutzt.

Auf dem Platz zwischen Hauptgebäude und Mensa befinden sich direkt nebeneinander zwei überdimensionale Spielfelder für Schach und Mühle. Jedes Feld ist etwa 4 x 4 Meter groß. Spielfiguren sind leider keine vorhanden und müssen mitgebracht oder improvisiert werden.
In Bonn-Castell is the former University of Education, a branch of the University of Bonn, where students studied education, computer science, chemistry and sports. Since the establishment of the Campus Poppelsdorf and the centralization of the institutes, the studying here has been increasingly reduced and the buildings are now hardly used.

On the plaza between the main building and the canteen there are two oversized playing fields for Chess and Nine Men's Morris. Each field is about 4 x 4 meters. Unfortunately there are no game pieces and must be brought along or improvised.
