At 1,532 feet, Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park is the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard and is the first place to view sunrise in the United States from October 7 through March 6. It is one of 17 mountains on Mount Desert Island, Maine, that were pushed up by earth's tectonic and volcanic forces millions of years ago. Were it not for the once huge glaciers that sheared off their tops, they would be even higher than what we see today.
Cadillac Mountain is largely composed of pink granite with forests of spruce and pitch pine. Views of Acadia National Park from the top of the mountain are spectacular. And, when combined with tiny subalpine plants (such as cinquefoil), squat, gnarled trees, wild blueberries, and various sized boulders, it is unsurpassed. Bar Harbor, Maine, the most well known town on Mount Desert Island, is to the northeast. The Cranberry Islands are to the southwest. During certain times of the year, visitors to the summit are the first to see the rising sun in the United States.
The winding and scenic road that ascends to the top of Cadillac Mountain is approximately 3.5 miles long and was officially opened in 1931.

Während ich mir gerade deine Rubrik "Boats / Ships – Others" angesehen habe, erinnere ich mich an dieses tolle Wochenende zurück, was leider heute wieder endet (Karnevalshochburg Düsseldorf hat Rosenmontags frei). Mit Karneval hatte ich nichts zu tun. Aber ich habe einen Mystery-Oldie eingesammelt, für den ich zuvor "Schiffe versenken" lösen musste und habe heute eine Challenge-Dose in Essen signiert, für die ich 55 mal das Attribut "Boot" benötige.
Nun habe ich den Teil D5 und T5 deiner Sammlung durch und schaue mir deine weiteren Interessengebiete an. Vielen Dank für die wahrscheinlich größte Sammlung an D5 und T5 Geocoins, die ich bewundern durfte. Cattack

Ich hatte heute die Gelegenheit einen Teil der Coins aus der Sammlung Boats / Ships – Others von poseptun zu bewundern. Es ist eine beeindruckende Sammlung, die mit Leidenschaft und viel Zeit aufgebaut ist. Da sind richtige Schmuckstücke dabei. Die Erklärungen um welchen Coin es sich handelt ist sehr informativ und zeichnet eine besondere Sammlung aus.
Ich bedanke mich ganz herzlich und weiterhin viel Freude mit unserem gemeinsamen Hobby.

Ich wollte mich nur nach einem DNF-Geocoin erkundigen und bin so über Google auf die riesige Geocoin-Sammlung von poseptun gestoßen. Gemeinsam mit null05 & null06 haben wir aus über tausend Coins drei herausgefunden, die uns besonders gut gefallen haben: TBQQ7B, TB96JVA & TB6P59R. Viel Spaß weiterhin beim Sammeln. 🕵
