Military brats, what can you do?
This trackable made possible by: Nova Brygger
Mom would buy things she liked and keep them. She was the until the wheels fall off kinda person. Had her van for 20+ years and was able to drive it to her mechanic's - who took ownership of it when she moved. Now, I didn't say it was well maintained. No matter how old something got she always saw it as if it were new. Where most people get hung up on a big hole at the bottom of a 20 year old purse, for example, mom just took it as the new normal; asking herself, "Can it still serve its fundamental purpose?" Part of this was related to her spiritual belief that objects were alive, of course, until they weren't. Does it still have life? Then don't throw it away.
Origins of "hido," K.D., and the road trip
"Hido" was a greeting my mother, Kathy Bruce started saying in the mid-nineties. It was a consolidation of, "Hi, how are you doing?" into one word. Like Namaste for Enlgish speakers.
Mom's middle initial was "D". Katie was the name of her grandmother (her mom's mom). First initial plus middile initial, phonetically results in the same sound.
The Hido K.D. Road Trip is a tribute to my mother who passed away March 1st, 2019. She loved road trips and traveling. These trackables let her keep doing so for however long they last..
