O objetivo desta geocoin é ir ao máximo de eventos possível, sempre na companhia dos meus donos, para ser partilhada com todos os geocachers que lá estejam.

Esta moeda pertence à nossa coleção pessoal.

The goal of this geocoin is to go to as many events as possible, always in the company of my owners, to be shared with all geocachers that are over there.

O Alto Douro Vinhateiro é uma região com uma área de cerca de 26 mil hectares no nordeste de Portugal, onde se cultiva a vinha há mais de 2000 anos. O produto mais representativo é naturalmente o Vinho do Porto, cultivado e exportado desde o séc. XVII, que levou à criação da primeira Região Vinícola Demarcada do mundo em 1756. O Alto Douro Vinhateiro compõe-se por 3 sub-regiões, Baixo-Corgo (51%), Cima-Corgo (36%) e Douro Superior (13%), que se estendem pelo território de 13 concelhos, sendo que Vila Nova de Foz Côa representa 10% de toda a Região Demarcada.

O Vinho do Porto pode ser apreciado em algumas variedades, desde o Lágrima (branco) e o Ruby ambos de 3 anos, depois o Tawny, Estilo Vintage, Crusted, Late Bottled Vintage e Vintage, todos com mais de 6 anos de envelhecimento em barril ou garrafa.

A parte da frente da geocoin tem apenas dois elementos gráficos sobrepostos, um cálice de Vinho do Porto e um cacho de uvas, para lá dos textos “Port Wine”, “Geocoin Portuguesa 2016” e a referência obrigatória à homepage do Geocaching.

O verso mostra um trecho do Rio Douro, com os seus caraterísticos socalcos de vinhas. Por cima o texto “Alto Douro Vinhateiro – Património da Humanidade” e na base o código de rastreamento.

Claro que uma geocoin só está completa com o respetivo ícone, que neste caso foi também desenhado pela Kelux Geocoin Design, aliás tal como a produção que esteve a cargo da mesma entidade.

Alto Douro Vinhateiro is a region with an area of about 26 thousand hectares in northeastern Portugal, where the vineyard has been cultivated for over 2000 years. The most representative product is of course Port Wine, grown and exported since the 19th century. XVII, which led to the creation of the world's first Demarcated Wine Region in 1756. Port wine can be enjoyed in some varieties, from the 3-year-old Teardrop and Ruby, then Tawny, Vintage Style, Crusted, Late Bottled Vintage and Vintage, all with more than 6 years of aging in a barrel or bottle.

The front of the geocoin has only two overlapping graphic elements, a Port wine chalice and a bunch of grapes, beyond the texts "Port Wine", "Geocoin Portuguesa 2016" and the mandatory reference to the Geocaching homepage.

The verse shows an excerpt from the Douro River, with its characteristic terraces of vineyards. Above the text "Alto Douro Vinhateiro - Heritage of Humanity" and on the basis of the tracking code.

Of course, a geocoin is only complete with its icon, which in this case was also designed by Kelux Geocoin Design, as well as the production that was in charge of the same entity.
