I am Active Transportion Rest Area (ATRA) Travel Bug and my mission is to introduce myself across the United States and return to my home in Kingsport, Tennessee.
An actual Active Transportation Rest Area (ATRA) serves geocachers and other active transportation users by offering at least four elements; Drinking Water, Shade, Seating, and an Air Pump and can be customized or themed beyond those in nearly any way. Popular suggestions at demonstrations included a solar powered electronic device charging station and edible landscaping. Help me spread the word and popularize the Active Transportation Rest Area (ATRA) concept by logging what features you would like to have at an ATRA! Please practice CITO to improve geocaching habitats for everyone.
The world's first ATRA was installed in Kingsport, Tennessee in December 2015.
Active Transportation Rest Area (ATRA) trackable is an icon of each of the required ATRA attributes displayed in a keychain with a Travel Bug dog tag attached. Active Transportation Rest Area (ATRA) trackable is on a promotional tour to raise awarenes of the ATRA concept that is easily adapted to exisitng infrastructure.
