Travel far and wide, logging as many miles as possible.  Ultimately a visit to Alaska would be ideal. 

About This Item

This is a Firefighter TB (in honor of a very special firefighter) attached to a metal moose from Alaska.  Earlier this year, we traveled to Alaska from Maine on a two-week sightseeing and family visit trip.  Our brother Phillip is an Anchorage Firefighter and we had a wonderful visit with him and his family.  Sightseeing included a flight around Denali including landing on Ruth Glacier on the side of the mountain.  We also spent a lot of time in the Kenai Penninsula, Alaska's playground.  Phillip has a camp on the Kenai RIver, and he took us salmon fishing, cooking our catch when we returned to camp.  Last spring, Phillip took part in a firefighter stair climb in Seattle to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as his (and Santagrandma's) mother died of leukemia nearly 30 years ago.  He climbed 69 flights in full firefighting gear (boots, pants, turnout coat, helmet, and airpack) and finished in just over 22 minutes.  Pretty damn good for anyone, let alone someone over age 50!  Congratulations Phillip!  We are very proud of you.
