Teil der Coinsammlung der Kanustation Mirow / poseptun

Dies ist der vierte Teil der 12-teiligen Serie rund um die Griechische Mythologie und griechische Gottheiten.
Gaia ist die personifizierte Erde und eine der ersten Göttinnen. Ihr Name ist indogermanischen Ursprungs und bedeutet möglicherweise die Gebärerin. Ihre Entsprechung in der römischen Mythologie ist Tellus.

Notes from the designer, fox-and-the-hound (Christian Mackey):

This is a classic depiction of Gaia emerging from a split/crack/womb of Earth and holding the fate of the world and all creation in her hands. Her hair flows down and becomes the oceans of the world and the sun rises over her shoulders.

On the reverse we have the primary pantheon figures she has given birth to or created in an outer border that is a mobius strip symbolizing an unending presence in existence. Her symbols of life on earth in the background include (starting at 1 o'clock) the classic greek lotus symbol of fertility followed by agriculture grains, grapes of vines, insects, domestic land animals, fish, olive trees and crustaceans which all make up the principal interests of the Greeks at the time since. The phases of the moon mark both passage of time and the fertility cycle of the goddess. The sickle is of course the symbol of her castration of Uranus through Cronus so that she could release her children upon the heavens and create the Erineyes, the Giants, Nymphs and Aphrodite.

Ich hatte heute die Gelegenheit die schöne Sammlung von poseptun zu bewundern. Die Geocoins unter dem Titel Greek & Roman Gods sind schön anzusehen. Die 12-teiligen Serie Griechische Götter gefällt mir besonders gut. Die Erklärungen um welchen Coin es sich handelt ist sehr informativ und zeichnet eine besondere Sammlung aus.

Ich bedanke mich ganz herzlich und weiterhin viel Freude mit unserem gemeinsamen Hobby.

Ich wollte mich nur nach einem DNF-Geocoin erkundigen und bin so über Google auf die riesige Geocoin-Sammlung von poseptun gestoßen. Gemeinsam mit null05 & null06 haben wir aus über tausend Coins drei herausgefunden, die uns besonders gut gefallen haben: TBQQ7B, TB96JVA & TB6P59R. Viel Spaß weiterhin beim Sammeln. 🕵

Eine sehr beeindruckende Sammlung.
