Caching for Conservation Geocoin (III)

Geocaching is all about the hide and seek so here’s a little more hide and seek fun for you …
This Conservation Connection (coin's goal) is to take one action to reuse, reduce, or conserve water.

Did you know that the water we have on earth today is the same water that the dinosaurs drank from? Water cannot be created which is why it is so important to reuse, reduce, repurpose, and recycle the clean water we have.

Almost everything thing we do requires water in some way. Sometimes it’s very obvious like washing a car, watering flowers, or drinking tea but other times it’s not as obvious. You may have watering regulations in your area restricting the time of day or amount that you can water your yard in the warmer months. This is regulated to help reduce clean water waste due to evaporation. Did you know it takes 2,900 gallons of water to make a hamburger from beginning to end or that you can save about 20,000 gallons a year just by covering a pool?

Clean water usage varies greatly worldwide, people in Africa only use about 2 to 3 gallons of clean water a day compared to Americans who use 100 or more gallons a day! We can all do our part to make the most of this precious resource we all need and enjoy.

As part of my graduation requirements I am required to do a 'Master Plan' intended to make an ongoing impact in my community and around the world with a focus in sustainability, stewardship, conservation, and  environmental awareness tying in the coursework and experiences from the program to the project. These coins are part of that project.
