Mardi Gras 2015 - World Wide Multi Event Geocoin - Portugal

Mardi Gras means Fat Tuesday. 
The last day of Carnival, the day before Ash Wednesday. 


For Catholics, it used to be the last day to eat and drink a lot, before the lent began.

 

Venetian masks are a centuries-old tradition of Venice, Italy. The masks are typically worn during the Carnevale (Carnival of Venice). They are characterized by their ornate design, featuring bright colors such as gold or silver, and the use of complex decorations in the baroque style.

The coin features 6 red gemstones.

This Mardi Gras Geocoin was made in at least 18 different versions (worldwide).


Only 50 Geocoins are made of the Portuguese version.
