To meet as many cachers as possible and to track caching miles.
Hi, I'm Irishflea! It's nice to meet a fellow geocacher and I hope you are as excited about geocaching as I am! I am beyond obsessed! I was first introduced to geocaching by some friends in October of 2013, but the obsession didn't hit me until May of 2014. When it hit me, it hit me hard!! I began looking for every single cache I could get close to.
Thankfully, I met a fellow geocacher who taught me that geocaching didn't have to be about quantity, but that it could be about quality. He directed me towards some awesome caches and I soon had an appreciation for quality caches. For example, I traveled all the way to West Virginia just so that I could do the Gadgets of Berkeley County 2nd Annual Geotrail. I will still look for any cache I am near... It's just in my blood now. But now I can really appreciate the difference, and I will often times go the extra mile(s) to find that quality cache. Most of my caches have been found in North Carolina where I have been stationed with the Marines, but I am excited to return to Nebraska where I have yet to find a cache. I enjoy the older caches like Virtuals, and I enjoy the beauty most usually found at Earth caches, but most recently I have begun to enjoy a good Puzzle cache. Have you found any caches you enjoyed. I'd love to hear about them!
Have you hidden any caches? If so, do you have a favorite? I have hidden 15 caches, most of which I archived as I prepared for my move back to Nebraska, but I adopted a few out to a geobuddy. They're nothing to get terribly excited over, but I was fairly new to geocaching when I hid them, so I can't complain. They've provided a few smilies. Who knows... Maybe one day you'll want to travel the extra mile(s) to find one of my caches.
Happy Caching!
