Current Goal

Hi, Thanks for finding our travel bug.  It belongs to Team 2137, Team TORC, at Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan.  We are a FIRST Robotics team and this is the third travel bug we have released, hence the Number III designation.  Our bug's goal is to visit 48 states where FIRST Robotics teams are located and then return back to us in Oxford, Michigan.  We released a boy and a girl travel bug.  This is the girl.  They bugs are racing back to Oxford.  Who will win???

About This Item

CAM01448

Our travel bug is a pink Trektag of a girl climbing up a mountain--kinda like our team when we have to build a robot in six weeks.  Attached is a metal luggage tag that was laser cut by a TORC team student which gives a description of the bug's goal.  Go Team TORC and go little pink travel bug.

Didn’t move far, but I didn’t want to hold it longer.

Love the etching on this TB. I see it has not been to 48 states, but unfortunately I'm no leaving the state for a couple of months, so I'll move it along shortly and then let it continue on its journey.

Two photos are attached, both taken the morning of February 1st at Cannery Row in Monterey California. This is the area where famed American novelist John Steinbeck met marine biologist Ed "Doc" Ricketts; Steinbeck then wrote his novel Cannery Row which was published in 1945. At the end of Cannery Row to the Northwest is the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. Recommend reading the description for virtual geocache GC7B7EB which has many interesting details.
