D is the fourth letter in the basic modern Latin alphabet.   The symbol "D" is 500 in Roman numerals.

The Semitic letter Dâlet may have developed from the logogram for a fish or a door.  There are various Egyptian hieroglyphs that might have inspired this.  The equivalent Greek letter is Delta.

It was nice to find a travel bug, I have several MIA bugs, so I will try to move this one along this weekend. We are planning a run west to do some 4 wheeling with our Polaris machines, so hopefully I can find a rural cache with a large enough container for a travel bug. Thanks for sharing, Glen
