Apollo 12 startete am 14. November 1969 und landete auf dem Mond im "Ocean of Storms". Die Mondkoordinaten der Landung lauteten 3.01239 S 23.42157 W. Es war äußerst wichtig, dass die Mondfähre den exakten Landeplatz ansteuerte, um eine Sonde aufzunehmen, die vorher dort abgelassen wurde. Die Mission war erfolgreich und eine Landung im Umkreis von 200 Fuß wurde erreicht, sodass die Astronauten die Probe entnehmen konnten - dies war vergleichbar mit der Suche eines Caches :) Der Geocoin leuchtet im Dunkeln (Glow in the Dark)
Apollo 12 launched on November 14, 1969 and landed on the moon in the "Ocean of Storms". The lunar coordinates of the landing were 3,01239 S 23.42157 W. It was extremely important that the lunar module navigate to the exact landing site to pick up a probe that had previously been dropped there. The mission was successful and a landing within 200 feet was reached so that the astronauts could take the sample - this was similar to finding a cache :) The Geocoin glows in the dark.
