Travel outside The Netherlands promoting its country of origin.

The Netherlands are one of the founders of the EU, NATO and WTO and we also host the International Court of Justice. One could say we, as a nation, like to pave ways and be an inspiration to others. The Kingdom of the Netherlands were the most powerful nation in the world in the 17th century. Of course this time has long passed, but still the Dutch are well known throughout the world. Dutch people are known to be excellent negotiators and business people.

Then again the Dutch are also known for their direct, sometimes even blunt style of personal presentation. Perhaps this is due to a whimsical history in the way the country was lead over the centuries. It could also be due to our inability to set boundaries. You could say extreme tolerance and being naive has led to individualism and egoism following the claim of : "That must be possible...". Then again, modesty is a word frequently heard at Dutch dinner tables.

Our skills of managing water are of world-class level. This is very useful since over 20% of the inhabitants live below sea level. In fact, our King Willem-Alexander, who graduated from Leiden university in History, now has a special interest in water management. In the 2014 winter olympics Team NL came in fifth with 24 medals, all of which earned in speed skating and short track skating. How's that for water management?
